TRISTAN DE LIèGE COLLISIONS OF LIGHT (FEAT. JAMBAL)

Belgian composer and producer Tristan De Liège has teamed up with UK Jazz quartet Jambal to deliver 'Collisions of Light', a serene and explosive jazz-sploration (sorry) that’s come right in time to remind you that summer, is in-fact, over. The track is pulled through dramatic peaks and downbeat troughs by a moody, wandering baseline reminiscent of experimental punk legends Beak> and post-rock pioneers Fridge. 'Collisions of Light' is a masterful mix of jazz heritage and electronic curiosity with pitch-perfect production; it commands our attention from start to finish. The whole thing is enveloped by looping strings and a saxophone that perfectly bridges the gap between subtle and emotive. Speaking of the track, he says: “(It’s) probably one of our personal favourites from the album. The tune develops into a quite dramatic climax and despite its simplicity and slow tempo, it achieves great emotional momentum”. He’s not wrong. 'Collisions of Light' is due for release on September 15th and can be pre-saved here. -Sam Golding
